The Orientation

The orientation of my work is soul embodiment.

I am very interested in the way that our soul is bridged to form and how our everyday lives can influence, support, and when necessary, repair this bridge.
I believe we live at our best when we live true to who we are.
This includes honoring and clearly expressing our deepest values, life purpose, innate nature, and unique gifts and talents.
My own journey has given me a lot of fuel to pursue
this exploration.

The first of many tipping/turning points came several years ago, when I could no longer tolerate feeling trapped in my life and body.

At times, hope seemed bleak or nonexistent, and I frequently felt rocked by whatever the weather was at the moment, whether internal or external.

Although I had no clear idea of how to emerge from this situation, I followed the breadcrumbs, which kept drawing me back to nature, creativity, spirit, and the whispers of the body.
This led me to seek out and become a student of a variety of modalities, initially to serve my own healing.
Some of them have stayed with me, weaving their ways into how I live, while others held lanterns for a time, shepherding me through a passage.

There have been periods of steady growth, and others when it felt like things were messier than ever.
Living through these shifting winds has shown me the value of being patient and curious, softening my assumptions, eliminating distractions, asking for support, and holding a flame to intention.
Through this process, I have learned how to better hear, be present with, and honor the threads of communication between the layers of one's body and being and how they map to the expression of one's life. I have also learned from, and continue to evolve through, the reflections and kindnesses of teachers both human and nonhuman.

This education is ongoing and becomes richer and more nuanced over time.
At each step, my path has unfolded as inklings of possibility that invite me to recognize them for what they are, and then dare to try them on for size.

These are not ideas of what could be, though we may start there.
Rather, they are concrete experiments and felt curiosities that unfold our wonder and beckon us onward, helping us transition from one state or way of being to another and live more stably from there.

These inklings of possibility have guided me to seek the pulse of hope and renewal in the subtlest of gestures, the itty bitty choices, the unexpected turn of perspective offered by a story, a sound, an image, a bite of a novel food.
With each morsel of possibility that we are able to integrate, our hope shines brighter, and we consolidate our newfound wisdom through the way we live and show up.

That lays the ground for true resilience.
By giving ourselves to life this way, we can learn to question the way things have always seemed to be, and start to notice our part in it--where we have agency and what that might look like.

It is refreshing to be surprised by what is willing to shift, especially if we've been trying hard to figure it all out.

This simple but potent commitment can give us a chance to initiate fresh ways of being with not only what is around us, but also what is inside us. It can spark new choices and new understandings, enabling the initial issue, challenge, or situation to start giving way.

My prayer is that you are able to create the conditions to slow down and take stock of the scripted movie or programmed playlist that has been your life and the way your body moves and breathes.
Then it becomes easier to notice and open to options that you simply could not have before.

Much of the transformation
is seeded in this space.
For here, we are able to better discern and listen to the insights of our body, heart, and soul, whose voices so routinely get boxed out when we spend most of our time at the surface of life, keeping things going just to stay alive.
This way of living often keeps intact the very things that are simply not working for us, even though they may appear to be helping us stay afloat and keep functioning.

While it can be difficult, even heartbreaking, to face this truth, it can also be your ticket home.
You can do this step by step, insight by insight; it doesn’t have to happen all at once, but sometimes, simply knowing it can happen, is all we need to get started.
It opens the door to refresh the way we encounter life, and in turn, the way that life is able to touch, inform, and nurture us.
Wherever you are on your journey, there is ample hope and unending possibility to harvest.
Though they may not necessarily look like what you think they should, and they may not arrive or blossom on the schedule you may be trying to hold them to.
If you can set aside preconceptions of what should work and when, the intelligence that lives in your body and weaves through nature has many gifts to share…

Nothing about you is in the way.

In fact, as my inner guidance has reassured me often on my own journey,
you are the way.
We are all only ever finding our way. Let's find it together.
